Background

It stores info on 14 000 registered medications. The integration with the Affordable Medicines National Prescription Drugs Cost Reimbursement Program was implemented in 2019.

Objective

To develop an application that will provide all the up-to-date information about medicines approved for production and use in Ukraine. The information should be supplied from the State Register of Medicinal Products of Ukraine.

Solution

Our team has developed a web-source with detailed info on medicinal products to check the medicines prior to issue a prescription. It became a module integrated into the Medical Information System for doctors and clinics use. An authorized user has access to a database of all medicines that are registered for official use in Ukraine indicating an active or expired license. The drug information on the web app can be searched and filtered by a license number, pharmaceutical formulation of the drug, International Nonproprietary Name or trade name.

Medication database.

The application includes listings of medication by the following categories: pharmaceutical formulation, licence, INN, trade name, composition, сountry of origin, and manufacturer.

Editing options.

All information on the site is available not only for a view but can be edited, verified or deleted as well, to represent the updated data of a particular medication or a licence.

Advanced search.

The application includes listings of medication by the following categories: pharmaceutical formulation, license, INN, trade name, composition, сountry of origin, and manufacturer. Depending on the needs a user can adjust filters to the received data.

State Register of Medicines.

The database contains the codes from the State Register, which include information about the registration certificate, Ministry of Health of Ukraine Mandate number, complete information on the medicine with an ATC code.
